The Linux operating system Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) are meticulously maintained, ensuring they are fully patched and up-to-date upon release. These updates are made available on a quarterly basis. These AMIs are exceptionally well-suited for automated provisioning workflows, such as those found in auto-scaling groups, alleviating concerns about the availability of the latest patches and the time delay associated with applying them before incorporating new instances into a cluster.
Leveraging this foundational operating system, Kurian has introduced software applications. These offerings encompass a wide range of commonly used tools, including WordPress, Jenkins, various databases, the LAMP stack, Ansible, DevOps utilities, and monitoring applications, all of which are widely embraced by both system administrators and DevOps engineers. Additionally, Kurian offers hardened images, based on the CIS benchmark, for select Linux distributions. Importantly, the Kurian AMIs adhere to official installation procedures, eliminating the need for users to master any customized setup steps.
