Jenkins primarily serves the purpose of establishing automated software builds and constructing CI/CD pipelines within a software development organization. Nevertheless, it also functions as a versatile DevOps automation platform capable of hosting and orchestrating various automation, provisioning, and system maintenance tasks.

Upon initiating an AWS EC2 node from the Jenkins Server AMI, the Jenkins Automation Server promptly becomes operational and fully functional. Additionally, it incorporates a set of supplementary tools commonly featured in a DevOps toolchain, essential for executing diverse automation projects. These tools comprise:

Essential Jenkins plugins
Open JDK 8 and C/C++ compilers
Python 2.7 and 3.x
Git Client
Crucially, it’s important to note that the Jenkins configuration adheres faithfully to the official installation guidelines. Therefore, there is no need to modify the Jenkins setup when building upon the foundational platform provided by this AMI.
