The primary objective of this project is to deliver a secure, efficient, and adaptable server that provides HTTP services in alignment with prevailing HTTP standards. Notably, the Apache HTTP Server, often referred to as “httpd,” made its debut in 1995 and has consistently held the distinction of being the most widely used web server on the Internet since April 1996. Furthermore, this project celebrated its 25th anniversary as of February 2020 and operates under the auspices of The Apache Software Foundation.
